As a member of Soccer Manager you have a choice of competing in two Game World types, being either Standard Game World or Custom Game World.

Standard Game Worlds consist of several Game World types: English Championship, European Championship, World Championship, and several other country specific championships, for example Spanish Championship.

Custom Game Worlds are bought and created by members of the Soccer Manager community. The creator can decide on the format and also the rules for this Game World.

A Game World can be permanently closed at the end of a season if it has one or less managers and it is administered by the SMFA. If a Game World is due to be closed then a warning message will be displayed within My Home.

Occasionally a Game World will be shut down to conduct maintenance. This maintenance is usually brief to try and minimise disruption. Once this maintenance has been carried out the Game World will reopen.
